PARKER, CO — Barnett & Son Brewing was one of the most decorated breweries at the 2021 Denver International Beer Competition (DIBC) last week, taking home five medals that span a range of beer styles.
These wins come off the heels of many previous successes at DIBC. Barnett & Son’s winning streak began in 2016 with their Saoirse Irish Red Ale (a silver medalist this year) and has continued with multiple medals in 2018, 2019, and now in 2021.
This year’s medal winners are:
GOLD - Falling Skye Scottish Ale - Full of rich and malty character from special Gleneagles Maris Otter barley, imported from Scotland, and just a hint of whiskey. Falling Sky also won Bronze in 2018 and 2019.
SILVER - Oktoberfest Märzen - A rich and malty Lager with a balance of clean Hersbrucker hop bitterness.
SILVER - Nevermore Pumpkin Ale - A spiced Amber Ale, clean and malty with just enough hop bitterness to balance the spices - nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger - and of course, real pumpkin. This beer is gone for the season– look for it in 2022.
SILVER - Saoirse Irish Red Ale - A red and malty Irish-style Red Ale with approachable hop bitterness that rests on the palate. Saoirse also won silver in 2016 and 2019, and bronze in 2018.
BRONZE - Newlin Gulch Gold - A light, refreshing, and easy drinking Blond Ale.
All of these beers are currently available at the Barnett and Son tasting room.
